RESEARCH:
Dr. Eastman’s research interests lie in the structure and dynamics of a variety of molecules and materials, and in the application of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to structural and dynamical studies.  In the MURI project she is exploring both liquid-state and solid-state NMR methods for characterizing extracellular polymeric substances of biocorrosive biofilms.

Dr. Eastman manages the Statewide NMR Facility, which includes 4 NMR spectrometers, 6 Sun and SGI stations.  This facility enables users to transfer, process data, and operate spectrometers across the state.
